EUROPEAN PREMIERE OF THE GREAT PROJECT OF ”TELEKOM SRBIJA”
”Tesla’s Time Machine” in Vienna and Berlin

The multimedia projection ”Tesla’s Time Machine” of ”Telekom Srbija”, after successful tours around Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, was also presented in Vienna and Berlin, where the significance of this project was once again confirmed, both for the company itself and when it comes to the quality of the projection itself in the domain of visual and digital art.
At the end of September, the company ”m:tel Austria”, which operates within ”Telekom Srbija Group”, donated to the citizens and visitors of Vienna an unusual 4D projection about the great scientist and brilliant innovator Nikola Tesla, without whose inventions we could not imagine the modern way of life. The facade of the Technical University in Karlsplatz served to the young artist Dušan Jovović as a canvas to ”paint” and illustrate the life and work of Nikola Tesla through this audio-visual spectacle.
Thus, in the city known for the giants of enlightenment and culture, ”Tesla’s Time Machine” its premiere outside our region.
– The company ”Telekom Srbija” has designed this authentic project in the desire to pay tribute to the visionary who left an indelible mark in his society with his ingenious inventions. Continuously advocating the promotion of science, we wanted to, through the union of modern technologies and arts, support innovation and encourage some future scientists, but also to strengthen the image of our company – said Predrag Ćulibrk, General Manager of ”Telekom Srbija”.
The Vienna projection also had a special symbolism because Tesla, although did not stay in Vienna, was recognized and appreciated in the Austrian capital. The Viennese Technical University, on the façade of which the projection was presented, granted him an honorary doctorate in 1908, which confirms that the work of the great Tesla’s during his life was highly respected by his Viennese colleagues.
Milenko Cvijanović, director of ”m:tel Austria”, emphasized the significance of the projection in Vienna, where the company ”Telekom Srbija” operates through its youngest member:

Before the projection of ”Tesla’s Time Machine”, the gathered citizens were addressed by Marko Čadež, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, MP Ernst Woller, Chairman of the City Council for Culture, Science and Sports, and Dr. Walter Ehrlich Shupita, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and IT Technical University who, on this occasion, handed the facsimile of a telegram of Nikola Tesla.
The said telegram was sent by the famous scientist in 1908 from New York to the Technical University in Vienna to thank them for the honorary doctorate. The text of the telegram reads:
”I thank you for the highly appreciated recognition of my modest merits. In hope that your great institution will continue to prosper, please convey my greetings to my associates and close friends. – Nikola Tesla.”
AT THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHT
After Vienna, ”Tesla’s Time Machine” continued its journey to the German capital, where he was a special guest of the Berlin Light Festival, which attracts the attention of millions of visitors every year. The unusual life story of Serbian scientist was told on the famous Haus Hut building, on Potsdamer Platz Square.
– On behalf of the company ”Telekom Srbija”, it is my great honor that the innovative project ”Tesla’s Time Machine” was given the opportunity to be shown in Berlin, at the famous Festival of Light. We owe our gratitude to the organizers who recognized the uniqueness of our project and included it in the program. We are proud that ”Tesla’s Time Machine” is the only project from the Balkan area that has been given the privilege to be part of this spectacular event. When we launched this project, we believed that we had done something special, but we could not even imagine that Tesla’s story would go beyond the borders of the region, and we see the projection in Berlin as a kind of recognition – said Predrag Ćulibrk, General Manager of ”Telekom Srbija”.
At forty locations in the German capital, artists from around the world showed their artistic expressions through projections on the facades of various buildings. Emphasizing the specificity of ”Tesla’s Time Machine”, which, in addition to visual and music, also has Birgit Zander, Director of the Festival of Light, did not hide her enthusiasm about this digital show strong narrative and dramatic moment, as it tells the story of Tesla’s life and development, Birgit Zander, Director of the Festival of Light, did not hide her enthusiasm about this digital spectacle.
– The Festival of Light was created thirteen years ago and every October in October we illuminate Berlin, which becomes one big scene, and the buildings and monuments the main actors. During the Festival, more than two million visitors enjoy in light installations I am very glad that Serbia was present for the first time at the Festival and I am delighted with ”Tesla’s Time Machine”, just like numerous visitors on whose faces you can also see positive reactions. This is a unique opportunity for them to become familiar with the life and work of Nikola Tesla – said Birgit Zander. – It is wonderful that ”Telekom Srbija” has implemented this project, showing its support for science, while giving an opportunity to young artists to present their creative works.

String of Recognitions
In 2016, ”Tesla’s Time Machine” was shown in seven cities in the region, and recently it received the prestigious ”BalCannes 2017” Award for the best regional project, while in 2016 it was awarded the ”PR Excellence Award” as one of the top five projects in the category ”Science and Education”.
